Stichting WEP is calling on students from Minerva Academy to apply for a special edition of SEEN in January 2026!

What is SEEN?
SEEN is a multidisciplinary platform for artists of all ages, from up-and-coming creators to experienced mid-career professionals. Once founded as a platform for pop-up exhibitions, it has gradually developed into a 5-day residency where meeting and collaborating are central. We are always actively looking for combinations of makers who mutually complement and inspire each other.
What we have considered the heart of SEEN up till now, is the connection being made between the two invited artists; it’s about their exchange, first and foremost; that they are ‘seen’ by each other.
To close off an edition, the project space will be opened to the public on the final night, thereby allowing the fruits of that exchange to be seen by the audience.
Participants of SEEN do not have to make a plan, but are given our trust, space and help to make their own final presentation within the agreed working period. We see this openness as a basic condition for the creation of meaningful interactions. SEEN is therefore open to experimentation, where ‘failure’ is also a successful outcome.
Who is this open call for?
This open call is aimed specifically at students from Minerva Academy, which are currently in the final year of their studies. Students of all departments are welcome to apply
What do we offer you?
– A five-day working period (19th till 23rd of January), concluded by a presentation/show on the final evening.
– A fee of € 250,- (VAT included) per artist. This fee is meant as artist fee and material budget.
– An attractive project space: approx. 70 square meters of floor space, 17 linear meters of wall, height 4 meters, plenty of daylight.
– A front room with a bar, which will be staffed and catered by WEP during the concluding event.
– Publicity via our social media, mail and website.
Selection process

– A description of your practice up till now (max. 100 words)
– A motivation why you would like to participate (max. 100 words)
– A visual portfolio with a selection of your work (PDF, max. 5 images)
You can apply untill Monday December 8th, 12.00 pm. You’ll hear back from us about whether you got selected Friday December 12th latest. You’ll also be introduced to your fellow participant then.

Wat is SEEN?
SEEN is een multidisciplinair podium voor kunstenaars van alle leeftijden, van aanstormende makers tot ervaren mid-career professionals. Ooit in opzet begonnen als een platform voor pop-up exposities, heeft het zich langzaamaan ontwikkeld tot een 5-daagse residency waarin ontmoeting en samenwerking centraal staan. Wij zijn daarbij altijd actief op zoek naar combinaties van makers die elkaar wederzijds aanvullen en inspireren.
De kern van SEEN is de ontmoeting tussen de twee kunstenaars die we uitnodigen; hun uitwisseling staat voorop, dat zij worden ‘gezien’ door elkaar. Ter afsluiting van een editie wordt de projectruimte tijdens de laatste avond opengesteld aan het publiek, waardoor ook de resultaten van die uitwisseling gezien kunnen worden.
Deelnemers aan SEEN hoeven geen plan te maken, maar krijgen ons vertrouwen, de ruimte en onze hulp om binnen de afgesproken werkperiode hun eigen eindpresentatie te maken. Wij zien deze openheid als een basisvoorwaarde voor het ontstaan van betekenisvolle interacties. SEEN staat dan ook open voor het experiment, waarbij ‘mislukking’ eveneens een geslaagde uitkomst is.
Voor wie is deze open call?
Deze open call is specifiek gericht aan studenten aan Academie Minerva die in hun afsluitende studiejaar zitten. Studenten van alle richtingen mogen zich aanmelden.
Wat bieden we?
– Een vijfdaagse werkperiode (19 tot en met 23 januari), afgesloten met een eindpresentatie op de laatste avond.
– Een vergoeding van € 250,00 (incl. BTW) per kunstenaar. Dit bedrag geldt zowel als honorarium als materiaalbudget.
– Een aantrekkelijke projectruimte: ca. 70 vierkante meter aan vloeroppervlak, 17 strekkende meter aan muur, hoogte 4 meter, veel daglicht.
– Een voorruimte met een bar, die tijdens de eindpresentatie bemand en verzorgd zal worden door WEP.
– Publiciteit via onze social media, mail en website.

Aanmelden kan tot uiterlijk maandag 8 december, 12.00 uur. Je hoort dan uiterlijk vrijdag 12 december van ons of je geselecteerd bent. Je wordt dan ook gelijk geïntroduceerd aan de andere geselecteerde kunstenaar.
