Locatiegericht werken speelt de hoofdrol binnen het werk van Joyce. Binnen, buiten, in het landschap of met het landschap; de locatie wordt visueel benaderd in een zoektocht naar bruikbare vormen, lijnen, afmetingen en verhoudingen. Soms wordt hierbij gezocht naar een contrast, soms naar een poëtische samenhang. Eenvoud, tactiliteit, materialiteit en eenheid zijn daarbij de leidraad.

Location-oriented work plays the leading role in Joyce’s work. Inside, outside, within the landscape or with the landscape; the location is visually approached in a search for useful shapes, lines, dimensions and proportions. Sometimes looking for a contrast, sometimes a poetic coherence. Simplicity, tactility, materiality and unity are the guiding principles.
